CAM/CAD Programmer

A world renowned manufacturer of truck accessories and related products, has an opening for a CAM programmer at its LaVergne, TN facility. Our client operates in a fast-paced environment which is experiencing major growth due to a business model which designs, manufactures, and ships custom products to the customer within 3-5 days of receipt of an order. To accomplish this, we emphasize great attitudes, teamwork, and commitment throughout the organization.
Summary: Make programs for custom and standard products as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Use CAM and CAD software to make off-line machine programs for production.
Currently programing for turret punch. Possibly laser nest, press brake, and robot welding to be added over time.
Take the initiative to learn software and improve process and products.
Must multitask, switching between different programs and priorities throughout the day.
Design and maintain daily workloads for equipment in fabrication.
Keep scrap rate low for all jobs.
Support the design and manufacturing teams to resolve unforeseen design and/or manufacturing issues.
Work as part of a team.
Manage files between different software.
Using SolidWorks 3D CAD software to design custom sheet metal, extruded, and welded products in accordance with customer specifications.
Cross-check the design work of coworkers.
Estimate standard labor hours for all projects.
Participate in Lean Events.

EDUCATION and
Experience:
Technical or engineering degree focusing in mechanical design or manufacturing.
1-3 years of experience with 3D CAD or CAM software, SolidWorks preferred.
Must have basic working knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes including sheet metal design, welding and fabrication.
Must be proficient in MS office or equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS and COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must have excellent English oral communication skils.
Must be able to read and write in English at a professional level.
Must be able to hand sketch ideas and interpret sketches from others.
Must possess a strong technical vocabulary.

REASONING ABILITY:
Must have basic problem solving skills.
Must be able to interact with colleagues to solve problems.
Must be able to look for ways to make engineering processes more efficient.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be flexible with working hours if needed.
Must be willing to travel domestically occasionally.
Must have a valid driver's license.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
