Vehicle Description This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS Tribute is an awesome build with a bold style and even bolder performance upgrades.
It makes for the kind of coupe that can really love up to your love for this legend.
The Midnight Blue is the right kind of deep color that looks great on a mean Camaro like this.
But it also has a nice metallic element and clearcoat finish that likes to radiate in the sunshine.
In fact, with good chrome and good body lines, this one delivers the right feeling you want from an icon like this.
But part of the Camaro's mystique is that it gets to own the asphalt, and so the overall finish will never make you too nervous to drive it.
The chin spoiler, blackout grille, SS badging, and rear spoiler are all part of that extra attitude of a street machine.
And of course, those white racing stripes painted on top contrast the blue for a bold proclamation of power.
But our favorite part might just be the wheels.
They have the same style as the newer Bullitt Mustangs, and so it certainly gives this Chevy a unique look.
When you open the door, you have an attractive black interior.
The upholstery, door panels, carpeting, headliner, and dash, have the correct dark look, and there's a freshness that tells you there was an investment here later in life.
Even the details are nice, like the weather-stripping.
This is built with the driver in mind with front bucket seats, a center console w/horseshoe shifter, a classic Chevy sports steering wheel, and a tach mounted centrally on the steering column.
Under the hood is where this Camaro earns it powerful presence.
This is a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8 motor, and the consignor states it has only about 1k miles since the a rebuild.
The dark inner walls of the engine bay go well with the dark air grabber, intake, finned valve covers to make this look robust.
And it has all the substance to back up thus style.
The V8 was built with AFR aluminum heads, a Holley 750 four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and headers that feed the rumbling Flowmaster dual exhaust.
It's also supported by the right pieces, like an MSD 6AL ignition, steel braided lines w/AN fittings, and an aluminum radiator.
The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit that has a 3000 stall convertor.
This sends the power to a 10-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.
73 gears.
Add in power steering, power brakes, front discs, rear traction bars, and the grip of modern sport tires, and you've got an awesome total package.
Complete with owner's manual and original warranty card, this is a desirable, powerful, and upgraded Camaro.
