Vehicle Description A 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle convertible will always make a great first impression.
After all, the factory droptops of this muscle car legend are rare.
But when you can have one that comes with a great color combo, upgraded leather interior, overdrive transmission, and a big power V8, then you know you're looking at a total package kind of classic.
The '68 Chevelle is a legend.
The design has overhangs front & rear, big chrome bumpers, and intricate trim.
It truly wanted to own the road.
So it's great to have one that commands attention so well.
The black paint showcases a large overall investment.
After all, not only do you have a high-gloss shine from a pricey respray, but they had to make sure the body was terrific, too, before the first drop of black went down.
And speaking of shine, those form-fitting bumpers and classic rally wheel package headline a nice brightwork package.
This one has some Super Sport-style upgrades, like the blackout grille, hood pins, large dual exhaust tips, and dual power domes in the hood.
It creates a sporty-looking package that the engine really backs up (more on that in a moment.
) The black roof is newer, and so it looks great harmonizing with the black paint, but all you need to do is touch a button, and you have even more distinction.
Because when the top powers down, you have a red interior practically radiating against the dark paint.
Just like the exterior, they made a solid investment in quality here, and that starts with custom upholstery finished in fresh and supple leather.
This has the size and comfort to accommodate plenty of family and friends.
There's even a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner for upgraded driving music.
But this Chevelle also knows how to make the drive a priority.
The front bench seat has a fold-down armrest for individual comfort.
You've also got an upgraded sports steering wheel and a full set of auxiliary gauges, including a large tach.
Under the hood is a terrific powerhouse.
This is a MoTown crate 415 cubic-inch V8.
That means a performance-built motor that gives you big block displacement in a small block size.
The build includes MoTown 220 heads, Holley four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock aluminum intake, HEI ignition, and Hedman headers feeding an H-pipe dual exhaust.
This is a serious power package that runs with gusto.
But more than just pure power, this one wants to be a good all-around cruiser.
That's why the 700R4 transmission is both a stout unit and it delivers overdrive comfort.
There's also power steering power brakes, front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As.
Chevrolet only built about 10,600 Chevelle convertibles in 1968, making them a very rare commodity over half a century later.
So to find one with big investments to be a sleek stunner with serious power makes for quite a unique drop-top that you can't let slip away.
